'plant' - the m.j. diagram

D.C.I. Branch Meeting

Alex and I had a mini drawing club tonight in an effort to get the drawing ball rolling (and maybe, for 5 minutes, I would stop reading political blogs). Alex, who had stayed on top of our last handful of topics, drew on a new topic: WILD KINGDOM (which Colin's excellent previous post most conveniently fits into too!). I on the other hand had some catching up to do.

Series of little toys that could possibly be monsters simultaneously? Maybe I should work on monsters for my next theme....

Plants!

Plants from Golden Gate Park, Point Reyes, and RLS State Park near Calistoga. Some are sideways or upside down.

I was going to suggest Monsters. so i drew one. boo!

topic

I took a long break and I feel as if I owe at least a topic to this club. What about TOY? I would also like to suggest a rule for this week. We must draw TOY in 10 minutes maximum. Quick drawing that shows the essence of the subject!

fever!

hello
i meant to draw + post a plant tonight AND post a new topic, but i'm heading to bed on account of a fever, so if anyone wants to throw a new topic in the mix, i'd be most extremely appreciative.
keep up the good drawing fight,

plant matter

hello team!

long time no see. good to be back.

i'm in the middle of designing a logo for someone, involving a 'sprout', so i've got plants on the brain + so this week's topic: PLANTS.

here's an old post i would have made if kanji hadnt taken over my blogspot: i was going for an overall pattern of logos i'd photo'd in one day's walk in kyoto (a camo pattern maybe?) but it never quite got as dense as i'd hoped.

ps i think the every-other-week topic is a good idea, considering the posting pattern we've fallen into. which isn't to say that that everyone isn't welcome to post anytime they want on any topic they want, because they are.

The trouble with Kanji

Hi everyone.  I'm Heidi, and I'll be filling in for Nor this week since she is having trouble reading the Japanese text that shows up when she tries to log on to this blog. For this week's topic, how about food.  We all have to eat it, so why not take a few seconds before you do and sketch it?
